Economic Times has released a report recently highlighting the number of Indian students applying for F1 USA Visa. The stats are staggering to learn as Indian students who’re in the US previous year have yielded a whooping amount of $3.3 billion approximately to the U.S. economy. Being half into the year, the U.S. consulates have already recorded more than 90,000 applications for F1 USA Visa and that is more than 60% in comparison to last year’s intake by U.S. immigration. However, U.S. embassies have approved only close to 4,000 visas among the 90,000 applications. It implies the country has become rather stringent on approving F1 USA Visas to applicants. India is the second largest foreign counterpart with most number of students studying in the U.S. standing only next to China. Talking about the hot streams in which most of the applications are received, the Economic Times has reported that most of the visa approvals have been in Science, Technology, and Engineering and Mathematics disciplines. It has been observed that Computer Science is the domain that has received the most number of applications and also the approval rate for this discipline has been the highest.
