University of Minnesota offering scholarships for undergraduate programs

University of Minnesota has been very generous towards international students who enter USA to pursue undergraduate education in the university. These scholarships are named as Global Excellence Scholarships and all the incoming freshmen from other countries applying for the university are eligible to apply. However, the sole discretion of choosing students for scholarships lies with the university’s management board.

The Global Excellence Scholarship has two categories to its name: one being the Gold Global Excellence and this is awarded only for freshmen at the university. The best part about this scholarship is erasing the financial disparity between local and foreign students in accordance to their fee structures as this scholarship covers the amount as scholarship that’s the difference between the local student fees and the foreign student fees.

Talking about the other kind of Global Excellence Scholarship i.e. the Maroon Global Excellence Scholarship, this scholarship covers half of the difference between the local student fees and the foreign students’ fees but this scholarship is applicable for freshmen as well as the students who come to University of Minnesota on a transfer from other institutions.

The university also considers the international freshmen on a priority basis; thereby the university has introduced Undergraduate Research Scholarship and this grant shells out closely $1700 to students who intend and are eligible to work on a university sponsored research project.

Given the world class education it has always offered, University of Minnesota is now making a mark in the grants it offers as well.
